LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Figure skating is pretty much the only Olympic Winter Sport I watch. My Exec Producer Rob is mortified that I refer to it as "figure skating" or even "skating." As he continues to remind me every chance he gets, it's called "Figs." Yes, "Figs." Got that? Yeah, OK, Rob... whatever... I love figs, especially in the Summertime with a glass of French Rose.
Anyway - for me, skating is not just about the triple axel, triple lutz, triple toe loops and all the other jumps and moves... it's about the fashion of course! Or in this case, "Figs Fashion." Cue the smirk.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Simon Cowell has confirmed that this season of "American Idol" - the show's ninth, will be his last.
While the show has produced a host of Grammy winners, one Oscar winner, and given the world a host of quirky former contenders (William Hung, anyone?), it was British judge Simon who really is the show's breakout star.
In the decade he's spent working on the reality program, a spin off of the U.K. show "Pop Idol," the flat-topped music mogul, fond of V-neck sweaters and tight-fitting tees, a man with an almost complete lack of filter, has transformed reality TV, making having a Mr. Mean on every judging panel a necessity.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The whole concept of "ladies who lunch" sounds so fun to me. And foreign. These days, my Saturdays are decidedly less glamorous, as I now spend them rolling around on the floor at music class with my one-year-old. My days of leisurely lunches seem to be over. Or at least on a very long hiatus. Until, maybe when my daughter goes to college? Sigh.
Don't get me wrong. I love spending every moment I can with my baby girl. But every now and then it feels good to get out of mommy mode to reconnect with old friends... and your old pre-baby self!
